Endodontics is field, in which especially root canal treatments are performed.  Root canal treatment nowadays is performed in single session in live teeth and generally in two sessions in non-living teeth.

About Tooth Anatomy

The part of the tooth seen in mouth is called crown and the part not seen in mouth ann remaining within the bone is called root. Our teeth may occur from a ccouple of layers. The outmost part of crown part seen in our mouth is called enamel. Cement layer covers over root part remaining under gingive of our tooth and surrounded by bone. There is also dentine layer under tooth enamel and cement layers. The characteristic of dentine is the biggest layer of the tooth and involves nerve ending in contrast to enamel layer. It acts a pat in pain mechanism by this characteristic. There is dental pulp under dentine layer. There are vessels and nerves of teeth in this part. Pulp plays an important part during maintaining and developing of the tooth. Moreover, it transmits the problems encountered by our tooth by pain mechanism after the tooth maintains.

How Does Pulp Get Inflamed?

There are bacteria in oral cavity of everyone. Bacteria enables that acids are formed in our mouth by combining with many foods we take. If we cannot remove these acids formed from our mouth, these substances damage enamel and cause decay formation in enamel layer. If decays in enamels are not treated, they pass onto dentine layer under enamel layer. If decay occurring is not treated although dentine layer warns us by pain, this time microorganisms get into motion towards pulp. Meanwhile pulp activates various ways in order to protect itself. One of these ways also warns us by pain but if we do not treat our tooth after all, microorganisms causes inflammation formation by impairing vessels and nerves within the pulp.
